Translation and interpretation

Every word, understood.

A missed word can cost a family a benefit, a diagnosis or a court date. Our interpreters and translators provide support in English, Spanish, French, Arabic and other languages, for USCIS filings, doctors' visits, parent teacher conferences and anywhere else a family needs to be understood.

Certified for USCIS

Accepted where it counts.

USCIS asks for a complete English translation of every document in another language, with the translator's signed statement that they are competent to translate from that language into English and that the translation is complete and accurate.

Every certified translation we deliver comes that way, and a second linguist checks it before it leaves our office. Many courts, schools and employers ask for the same certificate. If an office has rules of its own, such as notarization, tell us when you send your request.

Our interpreter promise.

Every interpreter we send follows a professional code of ethics.

Accuracy

We interpret everything that is said, without adding, leaving out or changing a word.

Confidentiality

What we hear in an appointment stays there. Every interpreter on our bench signs a confidentiality agreement.

Impartiality

We do not give advice or take sides. Our job is to make sure each person is fully understood.

Honesty

If a word has no exact match, or we are not the right interpreter for a topic, we say so.

Questions

Translation, answered.

What families and organizations ask us before they send a request.

Are your translations accepted by USCIS?

Yes. Every certified translation comes with a signed certificate of accuracy that meets USCIS requirements, and a second linguist checks the work before it is delivered.

How quickly can you translate a document?

Most certificates are ready within three business days. We confirm the date only after we have reviewed your documents, and we offer a rush service when a deadline is close.

Can I book an interpreter for a doctor's visit?

Yes. Clinics, schools and families can book in person, phone or video interpreters by the hour. Give us at least two business days' notice when you can.

Can a family member interpret for me instead?

You can always bring someone you trust. For medical, legal and school meetings a trained interpreter is safer: relatives, and children most of all, may not know the terms, and should not have to carry private or painful news. For our own clients, interpretation is free.

Do you translate from English into other languages?

Yes. Most of our written work is into English for USCIS and the courts, but we also translate letters, notices and forms from English into the languages we work in, for families and for local organizations.
